This position will be critical to shaping the next generation of embedded FPGA products from Xilinx, the leader in FPGAs. The successful candidate for this position will join a technology leader, a rapidly growing organization and be an integral member of a skilled and motivated team. 

The candidate will lead a team in creating and verifying embedded IP, optimized for Xilinx FPGAs. The candidate will have ownership for creating complete products from inception (specification, architecture, design implementation, and verification) to product realization (documentation, tool integration, and tailored customer support). Xilinx embedded IP solutions allow FPGA system designers to work at higher levels of abstraction and yet operate efficiently through expertly crafted designs.

The candidate will collaborate with engineering management and marketing to specify product features by maintaining an understanding of end-user applications, will provide consultancy to FAEs on embedded IP and systems, will lead the development of IP core architectures that balance rich features with aggressive schedules and deliver world-class products that drive key design wins and set the industry standard for quality, ease-of-use, and customer support.

Required Position Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics or BSEE/BSCE. MSEE/MSCE preferred
• 10+ years of experience
• Strong experience designing and supporting microprocessor based systems, IP and associated bus protocols such as those from ARM, PowerPC
• Strong development experience with embedded IP. Examples include bus bridges, memory controllers, high-speed interface IP like PCI-e, peripherals
• Design experience with VHDL or Verilog, synthesis, simulation and timing tools
• Experience with advanced verification methodologies such as SystemVerilog and OVM
• Experience with HW/SW integration
• Knowledge of FPGA architecture
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and teamwork
• Played lead role for a team of design engineers for 4+ years
• Managed a team of design engineers for 3+ years
• Good track record for high productivity as an individual and as a team lead
• Good track record for sharing knowledge, teamwork and being able to arrive at joint technical strategies and technical decisions.
• Ability to motivate other team members
• Ability to plan realistically and be aggressive in achieving targets

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Xilinx ISE and EDK tools
• Experience in networking, communications, or other target application areas
• Experience in other languages VERA, E, C, C++
• Experience in Perl, Tcl and Unix Shell scripts.
